Maimela also criticized the WCED's response, calling it "inadequate." She said, "They claimed to provide psychosocial support, but we learned that it was not sufficient for the circumstances. There are even rumors that teachers are involved, which is unacceptable."

Maimela emphasized the need for strong disciplinary action, stating, "The school must set an example and show zero tolerance for such behavior."
When asked about the fate of the eight accused learners, Maimela was clear: "Most definitely, they should face expulsion. This is a serious matter, and the school must take a stand."
