Singapore Airlines A350 Business Class Review: Flat Beds, Great Service, and More! (2026)

Review: Singapore Airlines Business Class Airbus A350 (KUL-SIN)

The Short Hop with High Standards

For the next leg of my Iceland to The Residence via Cambodia journey, it was time to board Singapore Airlines' Airbus A350-900 business class on the 50-minute flight from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Singapore (SIN). At 184 miles, this is Singapore Airlines' shortest route, and it's always impressive to witness the high service standards the airline maintains even on these short-haul flights.

As expected, the flight was excellent, featuring flat beds, exceptional entertainment and Wi-Fi, friendly service, and decent food. Singapore Airlines is renowned for its consistent service, and this is something I deeply admire.

Here's a breakdown of my experience:

  • Booking: I used Air Canada Aeroplan points to book my business class ticket, opting for 25,000 points plus $109.65 in taxes and fees. This included an extra 5,000 points for a stopover of more than 24 hours in Singapore.
  • Lounge and Boarding: After a fantastic stay at the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, I arrived at Kuala Lumpur Airport Terminal 1 around 9 AM. Singapore Airlines directs premium passengers to the Global Lounge, which is just a standard contract lounge.
  • Cabin and Seats: This was my first time on the regional A350, and I was excited to explore it. The regional A350-900 business class cabin has 40 seats across 10 rows in a 1-2-1 configuration. The seats are the Stelia Aerospace Symphony business class seats, an upgraded version of the Stelia Aerospace Opal seats found on airlines like Air Senegal and Turkish Airlines.
  • Entertainment and Wi-Fi: Singapore Airlines' entertainment offering is among the best, with the KrisWorld entertainment system offering a vast selection of movies, TV shows, music, games, and more on an 18-inch seatback monitor. Free Wi-Fi is available for all premium passengers and KrisFlyer members.
  • Amenities: Amenities were limited due to the short flight, but substantial pillows and blankets were provided, along with pre-departure drinks and warm towels during boarding.
  • Departure and Arrival: The flight was packed, but boarding was smooth thanks to two jet bridges. The captain's welcome aboard announcement and safety video were screened, followed by a smooth taxi and takeoff. The descent into Singapore was swift, and we landed on schedule at Changi Airport.

Bottom Line:

Singapore Airlines consistently delivers pleasant flights, and this short hop was no exception. The regional business class product with flat beds and direct aisle access, combined with great entertainment, free Wi-Fi, friendly service, and a tasty snack, makes it a fantastic choice for short-haul travel.

What are your thoughts on Singapore Airlines' A350 business class? Do you agree that it's a great option for short-haul flights? Let me know in the comments!
