If placed on LTIR, Pageau could return on December 19th against the Vancouver Canucks. The Islanders have the option to place players on LTIR retroactively, so there's no urgency.
With prospect Marshall Warren back in Bridgeport, the Islanders are gaining cap space, no longer utilizing Engvall's LTIR relief. The team cannot recall Warren until he plays one AHL game due to new rules eliminating paper transactions.
